China Rail Cons announced that it has won the bid for the construction general contract (Section III) for the Fuzhou Metro Line 5 (Phase I). The city is the capital of Fujian province. The contract has a construction period of 1,553 calendar days. The total bid price amounted to approximately RMB4.227 billion (EUR 536 million). This represents approximately 0.67% of the operating revenue of the company for the year 2016 under the PRC accounting standards.
Line 5 will be 24.6 km with 20 stations and is estimated to be completed by 2020. Last year, China’s National Development and Reform Commission approved the development of the second phase of the metro network in Fuzhou. The second phase involves the development of three lines with a total length of 147 km formed by Line 4, Line 5 and Line 6.
